When I tell people that I am a self taught artist I always feel that is a misnomer. I am not sitting in my Denver home in a vacuum, learning to draw like some weird solipsistic hermit. The only way I have been able to obtain an art education, that is, the understanding of light, colour theory, perspective, composition, mood, balance, and all of the other art jargon is because of all of those artist who give up their free time, or lack there of, to teach all of us who cannot afford a formal education. These artists, art directors, art enthusiasts, and art lovers are the only reason I have been able to self teach myself.
This blog is my classroom notebook. It will be filled with notes about what I have learned as a forum educated artist, where I have learned them, and the artist, book, or tutorial I learned them from. It will also have notes on things that I wish to remember about art theory, art business, art fundamentals, and how to live life better as an artist.
